The presence of evangelicals in the television media is growing every year in Brazil.

Since the program first aired in 1962, led by pr. Alcides Campolongo, Adventist Church, called “Faith for Today “, the number of evangelicals has grown enormously programs.

Several hours of TV programs open are filled with evangelicals.

In the year 2000,  evangelicals accounted for 15% of the population, according to the Office for Evangelization of Latin America (SEPAL) and IBGE.

Currently, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), which fueled a study by economist Marcelo Nery, evangelicals in Brazil reached 20% of the population, achieving something close to 50 million people. In economic terms, evangelicals are formed mostly by people of social classes C and D, precisely those that grew more purchasing power in recent years.

This explains, in part, the increased market products related to faith, like Gospel Music and Christian literature, and to promote the emergence of new consumer niche markets, such as garment factories and shops specializing in evangelical fashion, focused primarily for women’s clothing, according to the doctrines of some churches.

With the increase of evangelicals in the country, it is estimated that also the number of inserts in various media has a proportional growth, especially on television.
